Seriously, they had my camera in their service center already. The Nikon community already knew the eyelets were an issue then. Nikon was not proactive, ignored reports, and didn’t chose against preventative care or maintenance. Why? Time and money. They could have chosen to do the right thing, but made a conscious decision not to. They get no grace from me on this one. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. They are not fooling me on this one. It’s pure negligence.
2023-08-16 Update - I have the camera back in hand, and it seems fine. I think perhaps the sticker that has the serial number on it seems like it was taken off and reattached, but no biggie. Everything else checks out.
