Dashpoint State Park

It’s not Grand Cayman, but this is one of the closest beaches to our home. At low tide, this beach stretches out quite far and has a section full of sand dollars, but today we hit it at high tide. What a difference! There was hardly any beach at all! Still, it was nice to get out and enjoy the scenery, and of course take some photos.

Today, I grabbed two outdated pieces of camera tech for our outing: an old fashioned DSLR (Nikon D850), and a manual focus old school Nikon 50mm f1/.2 AIS lens. There’s just something about this lens that really makes it enjoyable. For the most part, focusing with it is too bad, but there were a couple of shots with a very busy background where the camera’s focus indicator had me focusing behind my intended subject. All photos were edited using Lightroom.
